The Welsh Government has launched a consultation on the proposed Wales Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Delivery Plan. Stakeholders are invited to view the Delivery Plan drafted by the Welsh Government and share their feedback in a consultation form by 29 February 2016.

Public Health Wales is supporting Welsh Government with the promotion of the consultation.

Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) is one of the greatest health threats to humans and animals, which has been building over decades,’ said Dr Marion Lyons, Director of Health Protection. ‘This is a complex health challenge and one for which everyone has to play a part for us to succeed.

‘Building on previous successes, Wales must continue to play its part in UK and European partners’ efforts to minimise the effects of AMR on human and animal health.’

Public Health Wales has developed a communications pack to help NHS organisations across Wales to promote the AMR Delivery Plan and consultation. The pack contains resources, such as briefings, a news story, social media messages and an easy read version of the Delivery Plan.

The Wales AMR Delivery Plan sets out clearly the direction of travel for Wales and the key priorities for action.
